Listening To Wisdom When It Speaks…
July 23, 2012 | By Tekoa Da Silva

One of the biggest joys in life can be the listening of stories, especially by those who have built and achieved amazing things. Below is a short commentary from John Assaraf, entrepreneur, and star of the hit movie, “The Secret”.
“When I was a kid, I was poor. I was a street kid. My mother and father didn’t know very much about how the world really worked. I used to go into the saunas at the local “Y” and sit there with the local businessmen until I’d get dehydrated. I’d keep bringing these men water, being their water boy, basically, so I could sit in the sauna and listen to them talk business. I’d sit there for two hours a night.
They’d try and get me out of the sauna, saying it’s not healthy for you to stay in the sauna two hours a night. But I didn’t want to leave because I wanted to hear their stories and I wanted to ask them questions, which I did—lots of questions.
That’s probably the most outrageous thing I’ve ever done. Across the street my friends were doing and selling drugs and here I was in the sauna listening to these guys tell great tales of success, health, and family.”
